Are there really any "reasons" for teenagers to commit suicide? Alejandro Ariel once said that "suicide is something that should not happen," but not in the sense of moral condemnation, but rather questioning its inevitability. The treatment of the issue in a television series allows a new twist, inasmuch as series are the contemporary replacement of cinema for the general public: every day, they reach millions of spectators in the world like novels or the radio used to do. The stories presented manage to transmit the situational pathos and allow an unprecedented way of dealing with issues. They can be used in a psychotherapeutic framework (as in analytical cinematherapy) or as starting points for the ethical-clinical analysis of on-screen fiction. The series 13 Reasons Why (Netflix, 2017) has been a success precisely for addressing, in a radically different way, the phenomenon of "bullying", introducing the horizon of death and, thus, raising questions that border on bioethics and psychoanalysis. This paper investigates some crucial categories, such as institutional and subjective responsibility, sexual violence, and acting out. Lessons are thus drawn from the series as a privileged cultural form that allows us to transmit, interrogate and analyse the singularities in the situation in a unique and moving manner.

Critical thinking is a basic cognitive skill that needs to be developed in school. We are immersed in a highly dynamic society that is overexposed to all kinds of information (true or not) as a result of the relentless advance of new technologies. It is key to educate citizens who are competent in this context and who are able to reflect on the presence and veracity of these social phenomena.

Feminism is indispensable for life because it seeks justice and freedom for women, in principle, although it is also granted to men. Feminism is the only movement that currently highlights the oppression and violence under which women live in this patriarchal system and from which men also suffer. It deprives men of the development of sensitivity, of emotional expressions, of communicating their intimacy, of their full participation of co-responsibility at home and looking after the children.
