The Observatory has organised three editions of course in April 2026
In April 2026, the Basque Observatory on Childhood, Adolescence and Youth has organised two editions of the course "Suicide prevention: gatekeeper level 1 programme". The main objective of this training has been to enable professionals to recognise alarm situations of suicidal behaviour in young people, and to acquire the skills to be able to respond appropriately and refer to specialised health services.
The course was taught by Alexander Muela and Jon García-Ormaza.
Fifty people attended and their professional profiles were distributed as follows:
- 84 % were people linked to formal education.
- 4 % were people working in the youth field.
- The rest were people with other professional profiles.
