The Basque Youth Observatory organises the course ‘Substance and behavioural addictions’. The preparation and delivery of the course will be carried out by Estibaliz Ansotegi Guruziaga, She has a degree in Psychology and is the coordinator of the Ortzadar health and addiction prevention programme.
The general objective of the course is to provide social agents with information and training on the risks associated with the consumption of substances and games of chance (especially sports betting and on-line games) and social networks.
Other objectives:
- To offer objective information on the possible risks that can be caused by such consumption.
- To offer strategies to encourage self-care behaviours.
- To offer guidelines for early detection and to raise awareness of the importance of their role in promoting preventive messages.

Profile of participants: Priority will be given to people who work or cooperate with youths (in agencies, associations, public administrations, companies, educational centres, volunteers...). In addition, the order of registration will be taken into account.

- Secondary education counsellors.
