The Basque Youth Observatory is organising a workshop on 'Bullying and Cyberbullying: Case Studies'. The course will be prepared and delivered by Saioa Magunazelaia Gonzalez, health and educational psychologist, systemic trauma therapist, mediator and instructor, and Sara González Muro, psychotherapy psychologist, mediator and instructor.
The overall aim of the course is to provide educators with the necessary tools and strategies to detect cases of bullying at an early stage and, fundamentally, to provide the keys to an agile and effective response that includes all the people involved.
Specific goals:
- Understand the phenomenon of bullying, cyberbullying and its manifestations and distinguish it from other types of peer violence.
- Identify guidelines for the early detection of bullying and cyberbullying.
- Become familiar with proposals to prevent mistreatment among peers.
- Identify the first steps to take when suspecting a case of mistreatment among peers.
- Define key messages for victims, perpetrators and bystanders.
- Understand the phases and guidelines for an effective response by the school, the family and other community educational agents.
- Assess the actions carried out in various real cases of bullying/cyberbullying and consider proposals for improvement.
- Practice the Pikas method.
- Draw up an action plan to deal with a case of bullying.
