Youth suicide, especially in the teenagers’ group, is considered to be one of the most tragic deaths of our time. However, there is a lack of knowledge about what experts say and what consensus exists on the subject, especially after COVID-19. This study delves into the ways in which this suicide is named and framed through different discursive practices according to the Sociological Analysis of the Discourse System (SADS) approach. Thus, this research interviews 15 key informants from psy disciplines (6) and other professions (9) involved in suicide prevention and intervention according to WHO standards. The results show that there are outstanding questions about the causes of adolescent suicide, especially from a non-moralising and non-stigmatising understanding.

In March 2023, the law for the real and effective equality of trans people and for the guarantee of the rights of LGTBI people, better known as the trans Law, was approved in Spain. This law has been one of the most media and polarized political actions in recent years. One of the main reasons is the growing discontent of health professionals. The increase in people declared to have «gender dysphoria» as a result of the introduction of these laws with a more significant impact on the female sex and adolescence; the gradual expulsion of the figure of mental health professionals or the irreversibility of treatments offered, are some of the key points that force us to act with caution as health professionals and reflect on the latent risks in this new model applying the gender perspective.
KOERTING DE CASTRO, A. y TEROL CLARAMONTE, M., 2024. Educación afectivo-sexual en España. Participación educativa, vol. 11, no. 14, ISSN 1886-5097.
Affective-sexual education is a fundamental component for the comprehensive development of childhood and adolescence, as it not only addresses biological aspects but also promotes health, emotional well-being, and healthy interpersonal relationships. It provides the necessary tools for making informed and responsible decisions about their affective and sexual lives, fostering their autonomy and capacity for choice. This article reviews the relevance of affective-sexual education, international recommendations, evidence of its effectiveness, key contents and concepts, and recommended methodologies. Additionally, it analyzes the benefits of comprehensive sexuality education, which not only contributes to the revention of sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancies but also promotes holistic development and healthy, respectful relationships. Furthermore, it presents a summary of some data related to the sexual health of adolescents and young people in Spain, as well as the regulatory framework and various ongoing initiatives. Among the necessary strategies for its implementation, the importance of collaboration between the education and health sectors, as well as families, students themselves, and community resources and health assets, stands out. In the Spanish context, current legislation supports the implementation of comprehensive sexuality education programs, recognizing their importance for the well-being of children, adolescents, and youth. However, despite this regulatory framework, significant challenges still exist in its effective application in educational institutions.
