Evaluation of the course ‘Caring for the body: cultivating caring relationships’
The Basque Youth Observatory has organised the third course of its 2025 training plan
In March, the Basque Youth Observatory held the course “Caring for the body: cultivating caring relationships”. The main objective of this training was to provide educators with a space for reflection and sensory experience that helps to understand the importance of the body in prevention and to obtain keys for a different educational practice that contributes to building good treatment among adolescents and young people, deconstructs the myths of romantic love (dependence, possessiveness...) and builds a non-genitalised erotic model, as opposed to the pornographic model, based on their own experiences.
The course was given by Maider García de Vicuña Quintana, sexologist and psychologist, and Miren Lopez de Arregi Lakuntza, sexologist and social worker at EMAIZE Sexología Zentroa.
14 people attended and the distribution by professional profile was as follows:
- 64 % were people working in formal education, such as guidance counsellors and teachers.
- 14 % were people working in the youth field (staff of youth information offices, city councils, county councils and youth associations, socio-educational intervention teams and other entities).
- The rest have been workers without ties to youth.
The average evaluations (on a scale of 0 to 10) of the people who have participated in the course are as follows:
