In 2007, the Basque Youth Observatory launched a biennial collection entitled Youth Indicators - Overview of Basque Youth, which will reach its 11th edition in 2025. This research --available in Basque (PDF, 6 MB) and Spanish (PDF, 5 MB) -- contains information on 125 indicators, divided into 9 sections:
- Demographics and population
- Education
- Employment and economic situation
- Emancipation and housing
- Health
- Leisure, culture and sport
- Basque language
- Values and attitudes
- Equality between women and men
The information collected by these 125 indicators comes from both primary sources, i.e. research carried out by the Basque Youth Observatory, and secondary sources (Eustat, Basque Government Departments, etc.).
The indicators provide information disaggregated by sex and, in some cases, also by five-year age groups. To the extent that the data are statistically reliable, information is also provided for the three historical territories of the Basque Country. In many cases, comparative data for the population of the Basque Country as a whole is also provided. In addition, some of the indicators provide comparative information on the autonomous communities of Spain and the member countries of the European Union.
Panorama de la Juventud de Euskadi (Overview of Basque Youth) is an official statistic of the Basque Statistics Plan and is also a fundamental tool for monitoring the Gazte Plana Indicators and other youth-related strategies.
