Aurrera Begira is a research project conducted every year by the Basque Youth Observatory that intends to understand how Basque youth perceive the present and what their short-term expectations are.

Year of presentation: 2024

Summary: For eleven years, the Aurrera Begira study has been analysing how Basque youth perceive the present and their short-term expectations for the future.

This study was designed as a synthetic instrument to measure the evolution of perceptions regarding issues of major concern to young people: employment, emancipation, parenthood, etc.

Summary: For nine years now, the “Aurrera Begira” (Looking forward) study has been analysing how Basque youth perceive the present and their short-term expectations for the future. This study was designed as a concise instrument to assess the evolution of the issues that most concern young people: their careers, the possibility of becoming independent in the short term, or the need to migrate to find a job.

Year of presentation: 2019

Summary: This study has been prepared every year since 2013 and aims to determine how Basque youth perceive the present and their expectations for the near future. The research is based on a telephone survey of a representative sample of Basque youth consisting of 1512 young people aged 15 to 29. The results of the research are based on 10 indicators that have an impact on the employment and emancipation situations, and that have developed very positively in general.

Summary: Aurrera Begira is a research project conducted each year by the Basque Youth Observatory that intends to understand how Basque youth perceive the present and what their short term expectations are. The results are based on 10 indicators: The first three indicators focus on the assessment of the present moment from various personal and group points of view; then, four indicators that focused on job prospects were studied; indicator number 8 refers to residential independence and finally, two indicators focused on expectations for the future.

Year of presentation: 2016

Summary: Aurrera Begira is a research project conducted each year by the Basque Youth Observatory that intends to understand how Basque youth perceive the present and what their short term expectations are. The research is based on a telephone survey of a representative sample of Basque youth. The field work was carried out in November 2015 by means of a survey answered by 1512 young people aged 15 to 29 years.

Year of presentation: 2015

Summary: Aurrera Begira survey leads to the drawing up of ten indicators that offer a synthesis of the opinions of young people of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country regarding their actual situation and their expectations about the future. This study began in 2013 to provide citizenship and people who has political or technical responsibilities in this field, a synthetic and simple instrument to monitore and evaluate the situation of the young people.

Year of presentation: 2014

Summary: Aurrera begira, which is a research project carried out by the Basque Youth Observatory and the Sociological Survey Office. Its main purpose is to discover how young people perceive the future in the short and medium term.

The study is based on the answers to a telephone survey provided by a representative sample of the population of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, with special consideration given to young people under the age of 30.
