Adolescence, marked by profound physical, emotional, social, and cognitive transformations, is a critical stage in which to equip young people with the tools to deal with the demands and challenges of everyday life and to promote their civic engagement and social responsibility. To strengthen young people’s capacity to manage interpersonal relationships and external pressures effectively, and to promote their mental well-being and positive behaviour, the WHO (1999) advocates the development of “life skills”. These comprise a set of cognitive (critical thinking, decision-making), emotional (emotional regulation, empathy), and social (assertive communication, interpersonal relationships) skills that respond to specific needs associated with personal and social development. Furthermore, these skills, together with youth empowerment and active citizenship, contribute to the development of youth leadership, understood as the capacity to guide, motivate, and influence one’s environment while assuming responsibilities and making informed decisions. Developing life skills, youth leadership, and resilience among adolescents helps them become responsible and engaged individuals who can contribute positively to society. The role of teaching and professional staff is vital in empowering adolescents and developing their skills by applying deliberate pedagogical strategies, establishing safe learning environments, and employing practical and experiential methods.

DÍAZ RUIZ, J.L., CASTELLANO SUÁREZ, V. y VENTURA MARTÍNEZ, J.L., 2024. “Me corto porque…” Conductas autolesivas en adolescentes: identificación de factores. Criminalidad, vol. 66, no. 2, pp. 61-74. ISSN 1794-3108.

Self-injurious behaviours in adolescents can impede the free development of their person, and are a potentiator of suicidal ideation and behaviour. They are classified as violence towards oneself. The aim of the present study is to identify the factors that contribute to the emergence of these self-harming (self-destructive) behaviours; they stand out as a way in which some adolescents express their emotional pain or seek relief. In this study, and based on a qualitative approach with an exploratory design, the aim is to identify aspects of the subject. The research setting was virtual, and was used to collect data from a structured questionnaire in which predisposing factors such as family dynamics, social relationships, negative thoughts, coping, as well as social and professional support received are addressed. The population consisted of adolescents 18-20 years of age. After exploring self-injurious behaviours in late adolescents, psychological and social factors that contribute to these behaviours are highlighted, such as family dynamics, interpersonal relationships, situations of violence, thoughts about past experiences. It is important to mention that adolescence is a phase in which individuals face challenges of autonomy and identity, and thus the importance of overcoming this stage. Likewise, there are obstacles that prevent the full development of potential, and sometimes adolescents may engage in self-injurious behaviour in order to express through the body what they find difficult to express in other ways.

PERALES ALBERT, A., 2024. La regulación legal de los influencers en España: regulación dispersa e insuficiente. Intracom Journal: Revista Internacional de Investigación y Transferencia en Comunicación y Ciencias Sociales, vol. 3, no. 1 1, pp. 32-53. ISSN 2952-2560.

The boom achieved by User-Generated Content (UGC) disseminating personally information, opinions, and entertainment through the internet has significantly transformed the audiovisual landscape in recent years. This media phenomenon, propitiated by the interactivity and technological convergence of electronic communications, has given rise to a broad public debate around the social influence exerted by these content generators (hence their name of influencers) and the regulation of their activity. This article, through the content analysis of the Spanish legal texts, concludes that the current regulations alow a climate of "laxity" and "impunity" in the face of the dissemination of inappropriate content at a time in which social concern due to the influence of UGC, especially among minors, adolescents and young people, have been steadily mounting. As a consequence of the result of this exegesis, the need for a general legal framework that recognizes the responsibility of UGC and establishes mechanisms to combat the dissemination of illicit or harmful content is proposed, seeking a balance between freedom of expression and the protection of the public.
