REOP - Revista Española de Orientación y Psicopedagogía, vol. 37, no. 2, pp. 25-43. ISSN 1989-7448, 1139-7853. DOI 10.5944/reop.vol.37.num.2.2026.47462.

The use of mobile phones in children’s everyday lives has intensified the debate on their educational implications and the shared responsibility of families and schools in digital education. The aim of this study was to analyze families’ perceptions regarding mobile phone use among children aged 3 to 12 and their role, together with schools, in digital education. A mixed methods design with quantitative priority and explanatory sequential analytical logic (QUAN → qual) was employed, combining a questionnaire administered to 1.435 families with children in this age range and a qualitative analysis of open-ended responses. The results show that, although families attribute educational potential to mobile phones, their actual use is predominantly oriented towards leisure activities. In addition, a largely positive perception of children’s use is observed, alongside a strong demand for educational intervention by schools. These findings reveal tensions between family perceptions, actual practices, and educational expectations. The Knowing–Valuing–Enabling model is used as a conceptual framework to integrate these results, allowing for the interpretation of the relationships between knowledge, family attitudes, and the institutional and normative conditions that shape parental mediation. Inconclusion, the study highlights the need to strengthen the shared responsibility in digital education and promote coherent educational policies to guide the use of mobile phones in childhood.

PÉREZ GALLO, V.H., 2026. Juventud, extrema derecha y construcción de significados: Un abordaje crítico de las narrativas de Vox. Papers. Revista de Sociologia, vol. 111, no. 3, pp. e3416. ISSN 2013-9004; ISSN 0210-2862. DOI 10.5565/rev/papers.3416.

The main objective of our article is to deconstruct the narratives that Vox has deployed to connect with and gain the support of Spanish youth. Similarly, as secondary objectives, we aim to describe the stories, arguments, and discourses that Vox uses to connect with youth, and to identify the symbolic mechanisms of the narratives through which Vox constructs a vision of reality and legitimizes certain political positions.

The research employed a primarily qualitative methodology, based on conducting focus groups with young people of different socioeconomic profiles and educational levels, analyzing the content of Vox’s speeches, and triangulating with an analysis of electoral trends in Spain over the past two years.

The findings reveal that Vox manages to particularly resonate with young people with lower cultural capital, who tend to express higher levels of institutional distrust and socio-economic vulnerability. The party’s narratives, characterized by populism, nationalism, and anti-immigrant retoric, effectively channel these insecurities and fears of youth sectors, creating a cycle where personal experiences validate Vox’s discourse, providing a framework for interpreting new negative experiences as systemic failures of the establishment.

Beyond empirical correlations, this article examines the symbolic and affective-cognitive mechanisms that account for the effectiveness of these narratives among specific youth sectors. Drawing on the sociology of knowledge, it shows how such discourses become consolidated as legitimate frameworks for interpreting reality. The main contribution lies in demonstrating that their success depends not solely on their content, but on their capacity to organise social experience and shape the understanding of situations of uncertainty.

ESPINO, E., OJEDA, M., GARCÍA-JIMÉNEZ, M., MORA-MERCHÁN, J.A., DURÁN-SEGURA, M. y DEL REY, R., 2026.  Sexting y Normas de Género en Adolescentes y Jóvenes: Un Análisis Mixto de Opiniones, Actitudes, Experiencias y Riesgos Psicosociales. Violencias Machistas y Políticas de Igualdad, vol. 1. ISSN 3137-7483. DOI 10.51698/y6za1f83.

The practice of sexting is becoming increasingly prevalent among adolescents and emerging adults. While it may be seen as a normalised form of communication, it is important to recognise the potential psychosocial risks and gender dynamics that are associated with it. The present mixed sequential study aims to explore the opinions, attitudes and experiences of adolescents and emerging adults on sexting, its prevalence, motivations and associated risks, incorporating a gender perspective. In the qualitative phase, focus groups comprising 405 secondary school students from Seville (Andalusia, Spain) were convened to explore perceptions of sending, receiving and forwarding erotic-sexual content and discourses pertaining to digital sexuality. The quantitative phase of the study involved a total of 2,921 students aged between 11 and 30 years (Mage = 15.34; SDage = 2.76; 52.6% female, 46.2% male, and 1.2% other). The overall prevalence of sexting was 56%, with receiving (43.8%) and sending (37.9%) being more frequent, especially among girls. The prevailing motives encompassed the perception of this behaviour as standard practice among couples, the pursuit of enjoyment, the idealisation of an appealing personal image, and the act of flirting. The practice of sexting has been associated with various risks, including cyberbullying and cyberhate, with gender differences observed. The necessity for gender sensitive sex education is emphasised
